A commercial waste recycling system was designed to improve the recovery rate of OCC (Old Corrugated Cardboard) in a transfer station. The transfer station operator has been regaining OCC cardboard in the tipping floor from combined loads of commercial waste accounts. Retrieval of the OCC was a dangerous and slow process using sorters on the tipping floor. A 250 yard per hour recycling system with vibratory screen was installed to improve the retrieval rate of recyclable materials from the combined waste stream.
1. Material is loaded on to a inclined conveyor to elevate and release waste onto the vibratory display. The oversized cloth is then metered on the 72" wide sorting belt (picking belt or sorting station).
3. Sorters pull outside the OCC, metal cans, aluminum cans, PET, HDPE, and mixed paper.
4. The remaining residuals discharge off the finish and are packed to the haul trucks for landfill disposal.
5. If heaps with a high quantity of OCC and nominal contaminants was packed into the machine, the OCC could be negative sorted and loaded to the baler in-feed conveyor.
